Street art gallery – Berlin edition

Herself and I are just back from a four day trip to Berlin and while I will save the details of the excursion (and my thoughts about the city) to another post, I am eager to show you some of the street art that we spotted in this most unusual of European capitals.  It took most of our Saturday afternoon to find the few dozen pieces presented below, and I’m sure that if circumstances were more favourable then we could have found more.

We had wanted to get some pictures of the famous East Side Gallery, but the weather over the weekend was truly horrendous and any decent view of the work there was obscured by a steel fence that the local government thought prudent to install as a deterrent to vandals and tourists looking to take a chunk of the wall home.

Half drowned by the rain, we instead found a local restaurant and got tucked into some schnitzel, sauerkraut and a few litres (they’re very fond of the metric system there) of fine German beer.  After all, this was a holiday.

You can now follow my increasingly strange adventures on Instagram here.
