London England in the Extreme Siberian Super Blast Beast from the East Blizzard

London – The city is four days into this particular spot of unusual weather and I’m yet to bore of it. The morning opened mildly with a fair portion of the last few days of snow almost completely melted. Nevertheless, the wind was still perishing and it wasn’t long before the electroplating fired back up. The hysteria of the press aside, I must admit to not recalling weather quite like this – at least not in recent memory; it’s seldom one gets to see horizontal snow. It was a pleasure. While the Brits are reporting the occurrence as a Siberian Blast, the Irish have playfully dubbed it The Beast from the East. Confirming something that had I once heard; the English may have invented their language, but it took the people of Ireland to perfect it.

I brought my camera to work with me this morning and took some photos on my way home.  The photos are ordered sequentially. When he was alive, the author E. M. Forster called a flat in the right hand-side building of the final pair of photos his home. It is quite a posh neighbourhood, you could imagine a story by C. S. Lewis opening here. It is certainly a far cry from my enjoyable but Spartan digs in East London.

I look forward to day five.
