Back in Camden Town – Street Art Gallery

Camden Town Street Art or: Staying Busy While the Woman is Away.

Herself has been in Greece visiting family this week. As a result, I’ve been at somewhat of a loose end back home in London. While it’s only been a few days, in even that short time the flat looks like a hurricane blew through and, in addition, smells like a dumpster blew up in here. I beg of you not to get the wrong impression. It’s still perfectly fit for habitation. Just not by humans. As I write this post, I’m waiting for a bucket to fill at the sink and will get to work on exorcising the place just as soon as I can find the mop. Because I still have a few hours until her return, I’m confident I can fool her into believing that I’m not the scruff we both know me to be.

Messy as I may be, at least I didn’t do anything particularly stupid while she has been away. Understanding that idle hands are indeed the Devil’s playground, I guessed that by occupying my digits with a camera then I should manage to stay out of trouble.

It’s been nearly half a year since I finished working in Camden Town. Yet, if I’m completely honest, I’ve missed that dirty North London dive. I woke up this morning like a man on a mission and after an hour-long schlep across the city, I was in back in my old stomping ground. I’ve dedicated considerable space on this site to the notion of time and change, and so it was no small surprise to find how little difference I noticed around the neighbourhood since my last visit. As a result, much of the street art that I captured nearly six months ago is still up. Not that I’m complaining. However, it meant that I didn’t get to capture as much new work as expected. Nonetheless, I didn’t come back entirely empty handed and submit the following now for your enjoyment. Finally, to the mop.

You can now follow my increasingly strange adventures on Instagram here.

I like how the vans and trucks get in on it too. The octopus and geometric pattern are my favourites.
