WordPress tells me that I have now used up the entire 3Gb of storage offered on my plan. This means that if I wish to continue maintaining this site then I’m going to have to make a decision on what to do next. I can either fork out for a premium plan or transfer everything onto a WordPress.org domain. Either choice will mean having to spend money that I don’t have at the moment, for now, I guess I will just have to hold off on posting – or really make an effort to curate and clear out my media library of any pictures/media that I don’t use. I’ve said this many times before, but I really need to start writing with greater frequency. Perhaps limiting how many images I post will force me to put down the camera and pick up the pen a little more.
I have a few pictures that I was able to take yesterday as I was doing some overtime at the office. Enjoy.
You can now follow my adventures on Instagram here.
Or you can do what I did when I ran out of space of my first free WP blog: simply open another free blog and your followers will sooner or later start to follow you there as well.
Unique and emotional as usual. Please find a way to keep blogging!
Hat dies auf Die Erste Eslarner Zeitung – Aus und über Eslarn, sowie die bayerisch-tschechische Region! rebloggt.
Yeah, sometimes you’ve just got to make that decision and choose whether to eat or create. 😉
Thank you
I, for one, would miss your posts…
There might be as many as… oh, say about 14,575 others who might feel the same.
Brings a new light on the “Critical” portion of the phrase “Critical Dispatches.”
Wow. I’m not here often enough to even reach the limits without being prompted to pay up. I’d take up on some of the noters here and start up a new blog and reference everyone to it. LOL… Beat the system if you can!
Yeah once I started posting higher-quality images I realized I would soon run out of space on WordPress. I opened a free Flickr account and now use that to host my photos. I simply paste URLs to the photos within WordPress and no longer have any space issues.
These are incredible!! You’re do talented!!!
I have been had the notion to get myself a WordPress.org and associated domain name for the longest time. It is, once again, on my ‘to-do’ list this year – I guess I have put it off because I am just not sure how much work is required of me when I do change over – bit hesitant to take the plunge. I figure the money might be worth it if I’m guaranteed of whatever it is I will be paying for.
I guess it’s been a while since you wrote this post so how did you go with your decision?
As a learning tool .org has helped tremendously in better understanding online technology. However, migrating looks to have massively negatively effected the reach and traffic to my blog. I primarily made the change as a learning experience; traffic was never the motivation behind creating the site – Though, while on .com, I did enjoy some small modicum of success with the platform. It also pushed me to earn a couple of certificates in online tech stuff. If you want to reach a wide audience and for the pleasure of writing, I would advise sticking with .com.
