Killing time while waiting for a friend the other day, I saw this book on sale in a West London charity shop.
Though on sale at a bargain £1, I didn’t pick it up. Something I may regret for years to come. I did, however, take a snap of the front cover because it is – without a doubt – one of the most ridiculous, audacious and impressive book covers I have ever seen.
Sammy Hall was a singer/musician who – following a swift Google search – passed away in the summer of 2013 and although I will probably never actually get the oppurtunity to listen to any of Sammy’s music, with a jacket like that, I guess that he was kind of a badass. I remember the book’s blurb outlining a life of excess, turmoil and eventual redemption through Christianity – fantastic stuff.
Though it may be a truism that you can’t judge a book by its cover, I feel that if I actually read Hooked on a Good Thing, I’ll somehow ruin the awesome story that I’ve already imagined of Sammy’s life in my head.
You will have to let us know if you read it.
Man, that guy has Badass in spades!
Very creative way to answer the prompt!!!
It has a nice cover. I hope its interesting
Your story is probably better than his. Just keep the book closed.
Very much like the way you see and think – very much
ohn
I think you should write the one you’re imagining!
It’s going to be ending of mine day, except before finish I am
